As a veteran owned and operated business, we know what it means to serve this great nation. While it is an honor to serve, there is a great deal of sacrifice and risk taken by members of our military on a continuing basis throughout a term of service whether it be for two years or twenty. We at FIRE-FX are committed to taking a continuing active role in supporting our fellow veterans both during and after their service.
PTSD Foundation of America: Recently, FIRE-FX donated our award winning media systems to The PTSD Foundation of America's interim housing and treatment center in Houston, Camp Hope. Camp Hope is located in a quiet and safe setting in Houston, Texas whereby veterans and their immediate family members can find healing, help and hope while benefiting from an intensive peer support and mentoring program for Post Traumatic Stress. In addition to temporary housing, Camp Hope offers a 90+ day PTSD recovery program in which residents: attend group lessons and support sessions with other combat veterans; conduct individual mentoring sessions with certified combat trauma mentors; participate in off-site small group interaction activities (fishing, hiking, local activities and events); and get involved with local churches, businesses and volunteer organizations to assist in their personal healing and educating the community on the invisible wounds of war.
These FIRE-FX UPLAY media systems provide entertainment for both the resident veterans being treated and the children's recreation center during group support sessions.
Texas Stars Hockey - Military Appreciation Weekend: FIRE-FX supports the Texas Stars Hockey Military Appreciation Weekend, donating to bring military members and their families to a free night of hockey on March 27th and 28th. We believe in providing for the morale, welfare, and recreation of our troops... go and enjoy the game on us!
I'd like to encourage everyone reading this to support the troops in your own way. It doesn't take much to make a difference in the lives of these men, women, and their families. Whether it's buying a cup of coffee for the military member in the coffee shop, striking up a friendly conversation while in line, or just shaking their hand in the airport. I can tell you from first hand experience it is truly appreciated and will be remembered.
